my bad. k isn't homesick, and wanted me to print a retraction. (hi honey!). i jumped to the gun with that one, thinking of a conversation we'd had a little while ago. she's actually seeming quite happy here, and at the university - she's made some good friends up here, and (as expected) has come to know her profs quite well. she *just* finished her last paper last night, and is now starting to settle into holiday-vacation-mode. i'm very proud to say she's one third the way through her masters degree.

it turns out i have more congratulations to give... from what i hear, our friend keth just got a new job! it's a step closer for her to be with the man she loves...

a little rant here... don't use telerose if you're a designer in edmonton and need to get some work done. i've spent all day today calling other printers because telerose, two weeks after we originally contacted them for pricing, popped an $80 delivery charge into their quote - at a time when getting our stuff ready for christmas is difficult, if not impossible. they lowered it to a $57 delivery charge, if we supply artwork through email. now who the fuck charges $23 to email artwork to their manufacturer??? it's a clear cut case of telerose trying to gouge the customers on delivery charges. i've actually had a wide range of delivery charges quoted me, but none of them have even come close to $80. so far,
the best company has been magnum opus, for both price and delivery (not to mention service). we'll probably end up going with them.

so ya. today's been spent on the phone with promotions companies. whee.

it's afternoon now, though, so i get to move to something even more fun... internal documentation. whee!

people around the office are a little cranky today. r didn't sleep well last night, and has been afflicted with the stupidest of lusers this morning, leaving him muttering and hanging his head. t and i have been running around the office madly trying to find a replacement for the above mentioned evil promotions firm. sucks to be us.
