Is it just me, or does this smack of a coverup? Ethics commissioner publicly announces he is going to investigate Prime Minister Harper over the whole Emerson party-switching thing. Mere days later, Primer Minister Harper announces he is replacing the ethics commissioner. Coincidence? I think not. And frankly, I can't imagine how Harper thought this would be a good idea for his public image. He's already suffering over the Emerson switch and the senatorial appointment. How, exactly, does shutting down an ethics inquiry by replacing the ethics commissioner make that better?
