After an aborted attempt last week to start biking into work (extended long weekend and lousy weather cut it short), I made my first bike ride into work today. K and I took a bike ride on Saturday with the dogs as well, which helped me get ready for the long haul into work (the work trip is 6.5 km each way). The ride isn't too bad though - for now it's mostly flat (there's a small hill after the High Level bridge near the Legislative buildings). My time is higher than it used to be - I had the ride down to about 20 minutes at the end of summer, and today took me about 30 - but that's to be expected after an 8 month break.
Coinciding with the resumption of biking into work, I've decided to skip my usual breakfast of a Costco chocolate chip muffin and a 473ml bottle of CranGrape juice - so I'm cutting about 1,000 calories out every morning. That is, assuming I can continue to not have that breakfast. ;)
