I knew there was a reason I preferred Apache over IIS. This article on ZDNet shows a visualization of system calls involved with serving a single HTML page on both Apache under Linux and IIS under Windows. It's general knowledge that Apache is just a better, faster web server - but I've never seen the argument made so elegantly before.

Next time you have to explain the difference between Apache and IIS to a client, just show them the images in this article.
