snow, snow, go away

We are currently having our first snowfall of the year - pretty much right on schedule. I thought I felt snow on me when I woke up at 3am to let the dogs out, but was too tired to a) care, or b) turn on the outside lights to look.

With any luck, it'll melt away as fast as it's coming, especially since I still need to put up the storm windows on the side of the house, and I should really get a last fertilizing of the lawn in before it's totally snow-covered.

In other news, K and I will be spending our anniversary in Victoria this year. K is presenting some material at the TEI-C this year, and because of the timing we thought it would be an excellent idea for the both of us to go out there. We've booked the flights and hotel - the hopefully lovely Queen Victoria Hotel & Suites, which is right beside the Royal BC Museum, and it promises to be a fun time for us both. Our friend and colleague Stan will be presenting at the conference as well, so we'll have someone there we know.

Other than Stan and Carol (we're going to take Dame Daisy May with us, who we've been looking after this month while they're on a cruise, and have dinner with her Thursday night), we definitely don't plan on seeing anyone we know -- it's all about the conference and spending some time together to mark our 8 years together.
