So, whether it was a good idea or not, I've decided to show overdue tasks in the public task list (overdue tasks are shown in red). I was already doing this in the version I have at work, but hadn't yet ported the code over to the personal tasklist. Given that I'm so far behind I'm actually re-experiencing events in my life, I imagine the 'overdue' list will get pretty long.
