Bit of an expensive weekend this past weekend. For one thing, I finally managed to find some pants that don't look completely awful on me. So that's a plus (and, as an added bonus, they're a decent name too: Bill Blass). I picked up a nice microsuede shirt as well (fuzzy... soft...).

The real expense of the weekend came unexpectedly, however. Our new next door neighbour moved in last week, and on Friday and Saturday had a roofer over to replace the shingles on his house. We'd done that shortly after moving into our home, but we never got the garage done because we couldn't afford the extra expense at the time.

When we saw the roofer next door this weekend, however, we decided we'see how much it would cost to do the garage now. He gave us two prices: $600 to do it that day, or $1000 to do it later. Kirsten and I talked and decided that, since we received quotes a year back for around $1000 that it was well worth the expense, since we had the money to do it and it really needed to be done. He got the two layers of shingles off and a new layer put on that day, then came back yesterday to install a roof vent in the garage to help keep it a little cooler.
