Kirsten and I went to catch Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow last night at the Garneau.
I was looking forward to this movie because of how it was made - there were no sets in the movie... all the scenery, background, and non-human characters were computer generated.
But what blew me away was how true Kerry Conran was to the form of 40s serial in both plot and appearance. Some critics have said that the movie is thin on plot and heavy on action... although that may be true, you have to take into account that most 40s serials were thin on plot, and heavy on action.
In short, it's a fun little movie, with one of the best, most entertaining ending lines I've heard in a long time.
