Remember yesterday when I mentioned I got a very interesting email? Well, here's the details...
The email was from the Associate Dean of the Humanities Computing program at the U of A. I was a little confused at first as to why he'd be emailing me after I'd received the rejection letter from SLIS.
He had written to tell me that although SLIS had turned me down due to my GPA, HuCo itself was in favour of my admission into the program.
Though there's still nothing concrete, they want me to apply for an Interdisciplinary master's degree on a probationary status. Under this status, I have to maintain a B average for the first term in all my courses. What's interesting about this is that I have to do that anyways to graduate from the Master's program (the essential difference being that under probation, I would immediately be turfed from the program, whereas under normal circumstances, I'd have to retake the course I got below a B in).
It's not guaranteed, by any means. The Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research has to approve my application, considering my GPA. But, as the associate dean put it, "I am optimistic."

Fingers crossed for you dude!
