Good news and bad news

<< This is your president, America. | Main | My goal this year... >>

First the good news. I checked my account on CCRA this morning, and the upgrade-enabling tax return is being deposited to my account next week! Yay for me! I've decided to get the P4 2.8 with the 800FSB, an Asus P4P800, and 512MB of DDR400, along with a new case and Windows XP (which I feel kind of dirty about, but since it's an OEM copy, I'm not paying the full $250 or so for it). The timing is good... Kirsten is going to be in Abbotsford and Victoria that week, so I won't annoy her with my geek-fest. ;)

And now the bad news: Heidegger has gone missing. He's been missing for about a week now, without even a suggestion about where he might be.

I'm worried, but I'm not too worried, since he's microchipped, and has a tag with his name and phone number on it. Still, I check the City of Edmonton Pets site and the Edmonton Humane Society websites on a very regular basis.

We're still not entirely sure when or how he escaped. My guess is that he snuck outside while we were letting Cayce out for a bathroom break one morning, got lost, and couldn't find his way back home (he once got lost going up a set of stairs at the apartment

Hopefully someone will see him hanging around, and will come to the realization he's lost. It took a friend of ours six weeks to get her cat back after it took off, so I'm hoping we'll see him again. But he's not necessarily a smart cat, so I've been trying to accept the fact that he might just be gone for good.

  1. You might want to try taking the occasional cruise back to the old apartment once in a while. Cat's have this innate ability to find their ways home; he just might be going to the WRONG home.

  3. That's no fun, I've had cats take off for a week or so, I hope he shows up soon.
