Our dog Cayce is quite possibly the saddest dog in history today. Yesterday, we took her to the Holistic vet clinic for her spay appointment. At the time, she was more than happy to run aay into the back with the vet's assistant with a cheerful "see you later, suckers!" look on her face.
When we picked her up at 5 last night, it was like we had a different dog. The combination of pain killers and residual anaesthesia made for a very sad, calm dog indeed. She apparently followed one of the vet assistants around the office for most of the day.
Unfortunately, she's had a reaction to the anaesthetics, which has resulted in her being quite sick, vomiting every few hours. When she came home, she was sick twice before bedtime (she was downstairs when I went to bed, but made her way slowly up the stairs some time last night to sleep with us upstairs). She was sick again this morning, shortly after getting up.
Hopefully, the nausea will wear off for her, and she'll be back to her old mischevious self. She's already well on her way... this morning I was met by a wagging tail, and she followed us to the back door to go outside when we were getting ready for the drive to work.

When Rex had his eye/ear surgery done a while back he was so pathetic when he came home I seriously considered if I had been right to put him through it. However, after about a week (and after getting the collar off) he was back to his old self plus more, due to having his eye back and happy. Hopefully Cayce will get back up soon too.
