interesting tidbit...

There's an interesting tidbit at the end of This article: Officials at the CPA (Coalition Provision Authority - basically the US government's eyes, ears and hands in Iraq) are suggesting that there will be no trial for Saddam in Iraq until July. Just in time for the presidential race.

Two things are really interesting about this tidbit -- first, that the timing is so carefully set with the elections... but second, that this appears in an article about Tony Blair, and how he's backing away from his earlier WMD claims.

  1. Of course it wasn't about wmds, it was about liberating the people of iraq the whole time! Geez, don't you know anything.

    Of course, no one is asking why the other/more repressed nations of the world aren't getting hundreds of thousands of troops to get them liberated. Oh right, no oil, forgot about that.
