CommsDesign - Securing Wireless Links: Part 1

...since I have a wireless router and PC card sitting on the floor next to me here at work. (hint: Staples has a GREAT deal on a D-Link DI-614+ wireless router. $69 after mail-in rebate ($89 regular price... which beats London Drugs' price of $159 on the same model)

(Incidentally, there may just be an open access point near my house.)

Update: It turns out there is a wireless access point near me - probably right next door, given the strength of the signal. However, the people have done their homework, and have encrypted the connection.

My own wireless router broadcasts from upstairs to the main floor quite nicely, with a clear, strong signal. It was nifty sitting on the couch watching TV while surfing. My inner geek was quite peaceful.
