The Seattle Times: Supertypist Mavis Beacon Is A Creation Of Marketing
People actually believed that Mavis Beacon was real?
Sure, in 1995, when that article was written, they thought she was, but she wasn't. But! She has since created, through bioengineering! In fact, they plan to clone this new Mavis and *actually* have her standing next to you at the computer! Not just virtually!
"Yeah, it's going to be a revolution in marketing! We've minimized the nutritional requirements of Mavis Beacon Live v1.0Beta6, and she should cost about a third of what it costs to feed an actual human female.", says Michael E. Duffy, Chief Technical Officer of Mindscape, Inc. "Almost anyone can afford to run one!"
Mr. Duffy did not provide a Suggested Retail Price.
