Do not move to Canada

<< Ugh. | Main | kirsten's mom's up >>

I have to post this here, because Lance doesn't have comments on his site. Bad Lance. No cookie.

Lance is imploring his fellow Americans to not move to Canada.

So, sure, you can move to Canada.

But don't.

I hear that a lot lately, and I've even said it jokingly myself. "If things get any worse, I'm moving to Canada." Where, at least, I could get married if I wanted to, but that's another tale already told. The reason I do not want you to move to Canada is because in a little over a year, we can vote all the sons of bitches out.

The problem is, Lance.... you guys won't. Even if you do, the replacements don't look a heck of a lot better. Most of the Democratic hopefuls share Bush&Co's policies on Iraq, foreign policy and the like. In a political system that basically supports two center-line parties, you're damned one way or the other. Clinton - though better in many respects than Bush - also brought the US the DMCA while flinging bombs at Iraq and Afghanistan. He simply didn't make a "crusade" out of it.

My advice to the same people you're talking to is Move to Canada. There's lots of room here, and we need your lofty amount of American dollars. :)

Plus, we are host to some really great things: Universal healthcare, constitutionally protected human rights, and Bob the Angry Flower.

And, of course, "potato skins, and blossoming onions and deep-fried, bread-crumb-coated cheese fingers to dip into high-fat Ranch Dressing (made of real Ranches!)".

Erhm.... we have lots of room, but the room where it's livable is getting less and less full of those nice "tree" things (generally green) and more and more full of people and high density housing. Personally I was thinking we could start kicking people out!

If every American who disagrees with the government moves out, all that will be left is those that do and those that don't care, and that's a worldwide disaster in the making.

Besides, from what I hear, the entire province of Alberta is thinking about seceding and moving here.

You've been talking to the uninformed and/or retarded, then.

>> Darren » Thursday, August 7, 2003 04:28 PM

Heh. Not the entire province of Alberta...

Anders - don't be so hard on the Albertans!

I am an Albertan. And I think it's safe to say that while we are safely wedged between Saskretardewan and Bretard Columbia, all is well in the thriving energy hub of planet earth.

whoa... Anders... holee

Are you secretly Ralph Klein?

Dude... I live in Alberta too, most of us think the US is full of idiots.

well in all seriousness moving to canada permanently is much more difficult than one would expect. well unless you are a boat person. for starters you have to have $10,000 in a canadian bank which weeds out most who would consider the move.

Oorgo, you can't say "most" unless you hold a vote, or else you're talking out of place for all of us.

That's veeery American of you.
