The US has spontaneously changed its position on the reason behind heading to war with Iraq, this time tugging on extremely emotional strings - the 9/11 attacks.

"The coalition did not act in Iraq because we had discovered dramatic new evidence of Iraq's pursuit of weapons of mass murder," Mr. Rumsfeld testified yesterday before the Senate armed services committee.

"We acted because we saw the evidence in a dramatic new light, through the prism of our experience on 9/11."

As K says, I guess France is feeling pretty smug right now.

  1. France and anyone else not brainwashed with the flagwaving.

All I can say is I'm *shocked* just *shocked*!

Not that they haven't said that the war wasn't about WMD yet, just that it wasn't about new evidence. I give it about a month before this changes as well, and goes to be re-defined at the ministry of truth.

  2. Heh, I've been expecting this for quite a while. The Hollywood style spin doctoring is hilarious in this administration. Can't wait for 04.
