More proof

Some more proof the US feels it is above the law.

The Bush Administration is cutting off aid to countries that don't support giving the US an exemption from the International Criminal Court, set up last year by the UN to try war crimes and acts of genocide.

Why is the US working so hard to get an exemption from the ICC? What war crime skeletons does it have in its closet? (You can be pretty sure that Guantanamo Bay is one of them, where approximately 660 'enemy combatants' are being held. The term 'enemy combatants' is an important one, as it denies them protection under the Geneva Convention.)

In another interesting twist, apparently the British Ministry of Defence has no idea what has happened to the nearly 4,000 captured Iraqi soldiers.
