Using a map and compass

OA Guide to Map and Compass - Part 1

We already have a nice Suunto compass - and this weekend, I'm going to try navigating with it. We'll be on a known trail, but it will be nice to be able to triangulate our current location on the map using a compass (I know how now!)

  1. Hmmm, next you can do some geocaching with a GPS. :) Well, if you get REALLY good at map and compass you wouldn't even need a GPS.
