...that Future Shop breeds idiot salespeople.... this weekend, the Future Shop on Calgary Trail was having a sale...

...for computors.

I'd almost put the blame not on the (admittadly idiotic) salespeople, but at head office, where they probably designed, proofed, and signed off on the computor sales propaganda :)

I bought a burner at FutureShop tonight. I asked a guy for help. I point to the item in the flyer. He says "Give me three minutes." He disappears and I stand in aisle for 15 minutes waiting.

Another guy approaches and asks me if he can help. "Yes. Yes you can." I point to the flyer. The guy goes and fetches the burner. He shows me where the blank cds are. I thank him and he vanishes. Guy number one approaches me and says "You can pay for those right over here", ushering me to his station. Now...I know that this is how they get their commission...by scanning the item at their station instead of the front...but this guy did nothing for me. "I'm not done looking" I said, and I walked away.

I walk back to the cd aisle...and he follows me. Just stands right beside me and says nothing. I move to the paper aisle...and he follows me. Stands at the other end of the aisle. Now it's a game as I move to the ink aisle, then the cordless phones, then the music CDs, then the DVDs. The guy keeps following me. "These are on sale" he says. "That's what the big sign says" I answer. Then the guy finally goes back to his station after a good 10 minutes of shadowing me.

So this leads me to believe that he was following someone else when I was standing waiting for his help in the first place. Jackass.

I hope the space station drops out of orbit, breaks into a hundred even pieces, and mash every FutureShop on the planet.
