U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell told reporters Tuesday the United States had "nothing to apologize for," repeating the U.S. view that the collision was an accident that occurred in international air space.

So, let me get this straight. Shortly after an incident involving a US Submarine in Japan, the US has another 'incident' with China. Not only that, but it involves a spyplane, bound for China. And the US doesn't think they should be bothered to apologize?

Tang told Prueher the United States had not taken responsibility for the incident and "has displayed an arrogant air, used lame arguments, confounded right and wrong, and made groundless accusations against China," Xinhua reported.

I swear, Dubyah is just itching to go to war, whether it's China, Iraq, or the Middle East. What next, insulting Canada? (oh, wait...)

You know, I think the only reason Jakob "Tom Woo Seminah!" Neilsen publishes his Alertbox columns is to sell his $250 usability PDFs. For crying out loud. $250!!!! That's a heck of an expensive 113 page pamphlet.

I'm half-tempted to start up gnutella and see if I can't find myself a copy of it. ;)

...and then I came in for 8:30am the next day, after 3 hours sleep.

I swear, I'm a masochist.

We ended up finding a place, by the by, in a neighbourhood fairly close (quieter and nicer) for $475. It's probably half again as big as our little apartment now, and a damned sight nicer rent than the $595 our landlady wanted for the apartment. All in all, it was a good weekend.

yup.

I'm really up at 1:27am.

yup. I'm actually still at work at 1:27am.

I've been up 23 hours now.

Want to see what a sick, tired, worked-for-18-hours, longhaired, hippy freak looks like at 1:29 in the morning?

So, why am I here at 1:29 in the morning, you ask? What could possibly have kept me here at work for such a long time, even though I've got the exhaustion of the dead, on top of a freshly-brewed cold?

I launched the new merilus.com website tonight. 4 weeks of gruelling pain, getting just the right feel for the website, then working with other people to make the content fit the purpose we were trying to achieve. Working with the desires of our executives, to ensure it fit their vision for the site, as well as the rest of the employees.
