It's scary. I actually agree with Gilles Duceppe, the leader of the Bloc Quebecois, on the newPublic Safety Act, the legislation put forward to deal with the events of Sept. 11.

The bill gives ministers, deputy ministers and civil servants the right to change transportation, health, immigration and environmental regulations without going through the Parliamentary process.

That's just not right.

You know, the separation issue aside, the BQ and the PQ aren't *all* so awful.

Not that I'd ever vote for either party under any circumstances, mind, but they're not all deputies of Satan or anything. ;)

I was really quite impressed with M. Duceppe in the election debate... he seemed to be the only one that could behave, and the only one that talked about real issues.
